This bridge was a group project for an engineering and design class I took in my junior year of high school. The assignment was to make a truss bridge to connect two buildings on campus and to fabricate a laser cut and foamcore model of the bridge. As a team, we decided to make a bridge that would offer a special visual experience whenever somebody walked through it. I designed it in Fusion360 so that all of the seven hexagonal sections could be cut flat and then attach together to create the bridge walkway. The same construction process for our model could be applied to the full-scale version that is made out of metal or even a mass timber method.
